What Sensitivity Should You Use in Valorant

업데이트 2026-06-04

Sensitivity is the single biggest mechanical setting in Valorant, and most players pick a number at random and never touch it again. There is a better way. Once you understand eDPI and cm/360 you can choose a sensitivity on purpose, match it to the pros, and keep it consistent so your aim actually improves.

eDPI: the number that actually matters

Your real sensitivity is not your in game number, it is your eDPI, which is your in game sensitivity multiplied by your mouse DPI. Two players with the same eDPI turn the same amount for the same mouse movement, even on different DPI. That is why eDPI, not the raw in game value, is how you should compare and choose.

What the pros actually use

Across the hundreds of pro setups in our database the average eDPI sits around 260 and the median around 230, firmly in the low to medium range. About 55 percent of pros play on 800 DPI, and the most common single setup is 800 DPI with 0.40 in game sensitivity, an eDPI of 320, which has become the de facto standard in competitive Valorant.

You can see the full breakdown, including resolution and refresh rate, on our pro settings statistics page.

400 vs 800 DPI

Both are fine. 800 DPI is the most common because it gives smoother cursor motion and more granular sensitivity steps. On 800 DPI most pros run an in game sensitivity between 0.22 and 0.40. If you prefer 400 DPI you simply use a higher in game value, roughly double, to reach the same eDPI.

cm/360 and consistency

cm/360 is the physical distance your mouse travels for a full turn. The typical pro lands around 30 to 40 cm/360, slow enough for precise long range headshots and fast enough for clutch flicks. The real secret is not the exact number, it is keeping it consistent so your muscle memory has time to form.

How to find yours

  1. Start inside the pro range: 800 DPI and an in game sensitivity around 0.35 to 0.45 (eDPI 280 to 360).
  2. Warm up in the practice range and a few deathmatches, focusing on crosshair placement, not on the number.
  3. If you frequently overshoot heads, go a little lower. If you cannot turn fast enough to face flankers, go a little higher.
  4. Once it feels right, lock it in and stop changing it. Consistency beats the perfect number.
